The Reference Guide

I find the reference guide to be extremely helpful. Anyone can memorize information for a test. In my opinion, simply memorizing makes your prone to “going blank” and poorly retaining information. You’ll have a chance to cover your bases with important numbers when reviewing your index cards. When you skim the reference guide however, you can read and learn about the terms and techniques that you aren’t familiar with. That way, instead of regurgitating information during the test you gain the ability to apply it which is an important part of the exam.

The reference guide is a great way to get yourself familiar with LEED, specifically if you’re new to the process. Skim it as many times as you think will help you. I went through the book twice to get familiar with the different categories. I concentrated and reviewed the areas that were very new to me. The book is there for a reference. Use index cards to list out different credits and refer to the book as a secondary resource.

I am prepping for the v2.0 EB exam. What was the most helpful study tool for you. I am prepping with flash cards as well. In addition, how long did you study prior to taking the test and what was your passing grade if I may ask?

Also, is there a good exam prep book that you recommend?

I am looking to take my exam between mid July 2008 and August 2008.

    Thank you.
