Forget the planet, what about us???

I had a passionate and gifted professor as a student in college. Richard Alley gave us a brief synopsis on the first day and alluded to the theme that the planet is constantly changing, we can be part of that change, or we can watch the planet expel us like species before us. His passion was evident in his materials and his gift was passing that information to his students in an easily digestible alphabet soup. Throughout history, rivers have moved land in the form of sediment, volcanoes recycled land along subduction zones, and mother nature’s recipe for climate has been punishing. As humans we are humbled by these occurrences. The changes we are making to the planet with our green house gas emissions will undoubtedly be reversed by earth’s unparalleled ability to heal itself.

As a race, human beings have to start being more egocentric. The green movement isn’t about the earth. It’s about us. The choices we make will directly affect whether we can sustain our lives as human beings. For more check out TheGoodHuman.com’s take.
